Quantum Computing and the future of cryptography

Quantum computing, which combines physics, mathematics and computer science, sits at the absolute frontiers of modern science and promises to have a huge impact on many established technologies.

Security

In this session we will explore the benefits and challenges that quantum devices bring for cryptography. We will discuss how quantum key distribution can facilitate unbreakable encryption, how the laws of quantum mechanics can be applied as security features and how quantum computers can pose threat to our established cryptographic schemes.
